I would really recommend getting involved in Dogs On Acid (drum and bass forum) for this sort of thing, (The Grid Forum specifically) production wise, there are threads of interest which detail tips and techniques for drum and bass production, there are sample packs galore which users upload, and also 'The Big Names' also post on there. (not the radio on DJ) it’s amen mashup tastic (like all his other albums on Planet-mu). If I could recommend any listening for mashing up the Amen (in a clear mashup way) I would recommend DJ Shitmat, his latest album called ‘Grooverider’. For using them in breakcore I load them into beatlookup or 元 and random stepshift, amongst others. I generally rewrite breaks in random stepshifter as a plugin in logic. I recently submitted a simple track to rachmiels 1 minute project using a chopped amen break, remangled through random stepshifter. (don’t tell the winstons this though, if they knew what their drums had done to music, and they hired a good solicitor, the DnB would be Doomed! and also 5000 one shots and hits …Īs for finding the original, it was created by The Winstons on a B-side called Amen Brother.
